A Horse at Full Speed
Most horse statues show the animal standing still, or with one leg raised. This one is different. Secretariat is caught at full gallop. Two legs are off the ground and two are pushing hard against it. The body is stretched out as long as it can go. The neck reaches forward. The tail streams out behind. Everything in this sculpture is moving in one direction — forward, fast, and without hesitation.

The Jockey and the Horse Together
The jockey sits low over the horse’s neck. His back is flat. His hands are close to the mane. He is not decorative. He is part of the motion. The two figures — horse and rider — work as one shape. That is what makes this sculpture feel different from a royal equestrian monument. There is no ceremony here. There is only speed.

More Racing Horse Sculptures
Secretariat is one of the most recognized names in racing history, but he is not the only story worth telling. We have made sculptures of many different racehorses — some mid-stride, some at the finish line, some with a jockey and some without. If you are looking for a specific horse, a specific race moment, or just the feeling of speed in bronze, visit our Bronze Racing Horse Statues collection and see what we have.
